What is Remote Surveillance?
The day has arrived where you can now view your CCTV system over the internet a major break through for people who want, to be able to see what's happening at their premises, but don't have to be there in person. They simply dial into the CCTV system and as long as they have the appropriate user name and password they can access the system.  They can even review previous footage over the net. I.e. who opened up and what time etc.

From experience remote surveillance makes a huge impact on businesses that actually have this facility installed. The boss can see what happening with the click of a mouse anywhere in the world. It is a must if you have more than one business from a central location you can view them all (Your Home or Office)
If the Intruder alarm is activated out of hours, you simply dial in to see what's happening. Or you can now use your mobile phone 3G compatible DVR's

What is required to be able to access CCTV over the Internet?

You will need a Digital Video Recorder with LAN and Wan capability built in; it's almost standard these days.

You will require a Broadband Internet service with a fixed IP Static IP address, although some of the newer systems can work with a dynamic address.

To be able to access the system you will need internet access where ever you are trying to access the system.

The cheaper Digital Video Recorders, come with software which you have to load first before been able to view remotely. But the newer systems, all you need is a web browser insert the IP address then when asked for user name and password enter these and that's it your in.

Below are pictures I've taken from one of the many systems we have installed this system is more than 3 years old and still is working well.
