CCTV Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance

CCTV Installation

We come on site and do a site survey. From this survey we establish the number of cameras required and type of technology we would use. We then do a written quotation for the client, namely you. The quote consists of all locations, where cameras would be installed, including CCTV signage and the type of equipment we would use (Specifications). The quote also consists of costs involved and the estimated time to install.

What happens when you place an order with Boundary Surveillance Limited?

We agree a date and time for installation. When the cameras and Digital Video Recorder monitor are installed, the system is ready for commissioning.

Commissioning

This is the final process which completes the install. We normally invite the client to get involved to decide where exactly the cameras are looking before closing them off as in up or down or to the right / Left etc ensuring what is captured by the cameras is exactly what the client wants.

Training / operating the system

A very important part of the process for us is the training on using the system. We speak to the people who have been delegated the task of using it. We do numerous dummy runs with them, and we also produce a very useful and simple guide on using the system.

Maintenance

Another very important part, which is at times overlooked by the people who are responsible for the upkeep of the system. We see it time and time again where people spend a lot of money on a system but never get it serviced. A CCTV system needs to be services at least once per year ensuring that the quality of the images etc are at maximum capacity and any other issues that need addressing are addressed - hard drives, cables, connectors etc.  The difference in the picture quality after servicing the system is very apparent to the eye. From our experience a well maintained CCTV system will last for years in fact between 5 and 10 years which in the end work's out to be great value for the money spent on it.
